ShawnDea Gammon, MSW, LISW (She/Her)

(Ohio)

She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with extensive experience supporting children, families, and caregivers through life’s most challenging moments. Her background spans mental health and substance use dual diagnosis, trauma-informed interventions, and work within the legal system. Over the years, she has developed a strong passion for partnering with families—especially those with young children—to strengthen relationships, foster resilience, and promote healing from both past and ongoing trauma.

She believes that healing happens through connection. In her work, she strives to create a safe, collaborative, and compassionate space where clients can feel seen, heard, and supported. She uses a variety of evidence-based, trauma-informed practices tailored to meet the unique needs of each client and family. Whether she is working with a caregiver navigating stress or a family recovering from trauma, her focus is always on helping people build stronger bonds and lasting skills for growth.

Giving back to the community has always been an important part of her journey. She has volunteered with organizations such as Franklin County Children’s Services, the Survivor’s Outreach Program, and Imagine Columbus Primary Academy. These experiences continue to inform her holistic and compassionate approach to care.

My goal for clients is “to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to feel every emotion that crosses them, one where they feel understood. I want my clients to feel like their story is valuable.”
